Bachata
Bachata is a romantic Latin social dance, which originated in the Dominican Republic and is now popular around the world. The music and dance have been influenced by Cuban Bolero, Merengue, Salsa, and Cumbia.
Bachata dance socials are common in nightclubs, bars, and ballrooms, making it a useful dance to learn for anyone who wants to dance socially. Given the romance of the dance, it's a great dance to learn for a date night in the Bay Area.
Ways to Learn Bachata at Arete Dance Center
Bachata is not taught in our Ballroom and Latin series group class program, as it is considered a club dance. However, we have professional instructors skilled in the bachata who are available to teach it to you during private dance lessons. This is a great option because we can work on your specific goals and desires, and adapt everything to your level. Whether you've never danced before or are an experienced bachata dancer, our instructors are ready to take you to the next level with your dancing.
