Introduction to Ballroom

If you’ve never danced before, it can be confusing to know where to begin. The best place to start is in a group class that focuses on the new dancer, our Intro to Ballroom Class. This class addresses the vital theory of how to learn to ballroom dance and puts everyone on the “same page”, allowing the classes to move forward evenly.

In the class you will learn everything you need to know to understand ballroom dancing and be able to practice outside of class.  Our Intro to Ballroom Class focuses on four dances: Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha, and Jive (two of these dances are taught each month).

What’s Required?

  • Pre-registration (we recommend signing up below, but you can also call 408-824-0074 or email info@aretedancecenter.com)

  • All dancers must create an account and agree to our liability waiver to participate in class

  • All dancers must be at least 16 years old or older

  • Socks or dance shoes (dance shoes are not required for Intro to Ballroom, but once you decide you will be continuing, please purchase suede-bottom dance shoes)
